WebRight now, the only way to get the Funnelweb is via random world drops. This means that it can drop, well, while in Destiny 2's vast open zones. It also means there is no way to target the Funnelweb specifically by running Strikes, PvP, Gambit, etc. You can get the SMG while inside those activities, just don't expect a higher chance of doing so.
